We spend a wonderful long weekend at Coastguard’s Retreat. The setting was truly breathtaking. The owner had made sure we could make the most of our stay with his comprehensive guide to the cottage and its surroundings. We dined at really lovely restaurants that were recommended in the guide too. The owner is obviously very proud of this property and so he should be, it is amazing.

Coastguards Retreat is a little piece of heaven. The house is beautifully decorated and brilliantly equipped with everything you need to make a memorable trip. The location is simply outstanding! Coming from just outside London, the peacefulness of the place is wonderful. We were surrounded by nature at its best. There are lovely walks from the house, where you’ll be treated to so many bird encounters. We were so lucky to sight two juvenile white tailed eagles on both days we were there. The local bar serves great food and is walkable to/from - good walk! Ben was so easy to deal with and promptly responded to any queries I had. I highly recommend Coastguards Retreat. It has so much to offer to all types of groups. My only regret is that I wasn’t there longer! I shall return.

We had a great stay at Coastguard's Retreat. A beautiful location to watch stormy winter skies and enjoy long walks along the Fleet. The house is comfortable, well equipped, warm and welcoming. Ben was very helpful as a host and provided really clear and informative instructions on the house, area and history which were probably the best I have seen. Amazing place and we'd love to come back another day

We can’t stop saying what a stunning place this is - once you have reached it via the long slightly bumpy road. But it is totally worth it, because you reach a quiet place with no one around and a breath taking view on the sea. The house is very clean and lovingly decorated, it is well furnished and we loved to find some Peter Rabbit books. We'll come back in summertime for sure to enjoy the outdoor patio area. It was convenient to go to Weymouth for dinner and strolling along the beach

Wonderful cottage and very well equipped. Had a great family break to celebrate a special birthday. Lots of family time and no TV needed! Lovely views gentle walks and good food. Ate at the Crabtree need to book and Oliver Vita both very good. Would love to return to this special cottage. Thank you.

We had the most wonderful break celebrating my 40th birthday booked as a surprise by my husband. It was also our first holiday as a family of four. Amazing views secluded quiet and a beautiful wildlife and sunsets all of our favourite things. Ben was very helpful during the booking process and answered any questions whilst we were here. Four-year-old had the most magical time and spent hours down by the water looking at stones and finding crabs and other wildlife. Thank you for a very special Time with our little family which we will treasure always.

What a fabulous place we have you have created stunning views warm cozy modern with every necessity needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the telescope for stargazing and nature watching. We had a great days out, luxuriating in this stunning warm and sunny autumn at Charmouth swimming and fossil hunting as well as local walks and cycling to Weymouth and Portland. A truly inspiring place where we celebrated my 40th birthday in style! Thank you again

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful Coast Guard retreat. Our stay was everything we’d hoped for it would be. Special memories made with the family the views are incredible! We enjoyed exploring the local coastline and reading about all the history. A lovely Sunday lunch at the Moon fleet to celebrate Dad‘s birthday. We were excited to see an incredible full moon Venus and Jupiter through the telescope. Appreciated the well equipped kitchen and beautiful decor. The Christmas tree was an unexpected bonus. Many thanks for making this space so comfortable for our stay. We were very happy with the constantly changing weather front over Chessel Beach including the most stunning sunset at Christmas Eve. It’s a very special place what with being so close to Weymouth but being so peaceful and quiet. We would all like to come back at some point and certainly Christmas was the most happiest we’ve ever had. Warmest wishes
